The tooth gap determines how thick a branch the trimmer can cut. The EasyHedgeCut models manage 16 mm — fine for regularly maintained hedges. Established hedges with woody stems need the UniversalHedgeCut (30 mm) or AdvancedHedgeCut (34 mm).
The noise difference between the EasyHedgeCut and ProSilence models is very significant. If you have neighbours close by, the UniversalHedgeCut 60 or either AdvancedHedgeCut model is a much more considerate choice — and you'll notice it yourself after a long session.
A longer blade covers more hedge per sweep. For a long run of established hedge, the 65 or 70 cm models save significant time. For smaller or more intricate hedging, a shorter blade gives better control in tight spots.
